Chloe & David Shields' Ocarro Pushchair Review

We love having couples on our Parent Approved Panel - it's a great way to get two different perspectives on shopping for your little one. Here, David & Chloe give our Ocarro pushchair a try. Read their Ocarro pushchair review...

We are so excited to review the Ocarro Pushchair. Living in the countryside in Northern Ireland, a lot of our time is spent outside and enjoying nature. The Ocarro is beautiful to push. Even laden down, it glides along nicely and the big wheels won't mind if you venture off the path. For any serious off-roading, we usually put Elia in a carrier but the Ocarro holds up incredibly well on the terrains we have tested. Plus it transitions onto them so smoothly!

Ocarro Pushchair Review | The one hand fold

This feature is amazing, I don't think people realize how much you need a #onehandfold pushchair! With two kids I always need one arm for something; may it be a bag, a baby or a toddler. Being able to fold the buggy with ease is amazing. It's a little too heavy for me to lift one-handed but it's such a compact fold for an all-terrain, luxury buggy! The handle makes it so easy to lift and lets me put it in and out of the boot with ease. The reversible seat option is also fab. Not only is it so easy to make the switch but I love that you can do the fold both ways! This means there’s no time wasted trying to get it back into the correct position.

The shopping basket

I didn't realise how big and substantial the Ocarro basket; the extra space is so useful especially with the elasticated sides. With other pushchairs I had to also carry a backpack. Now I’m able to pop any bits and bobs I buy on the way home in the pushchair. I can keep both hands free which is essential with a toddler who loves running about!

The hood

The hood sits at a right angle to keep the sun out of your baby's eyes. When the seats reclined, you can unzip it to extend right over their body. You can make sure they're shaded no matter where the sun is. There's a vent panel for hot days and a peekaboo window to check on baby whilst you're walking along. A little touch I love is that the window is magnetic. I've had velcro windows in the past and hated trying to check baby and not wake them by peeling it back!

The carrycot

Even though the Ocarro has a lie-flat option so you can use it from newborn you can also get a beautiful carrycot that attaches to the frame. I found the carrycot incredibly sturdy and roomy. The hood and cover keep it very cosy and it is so easy to attach, it literally just pops onto the frame! Elia doesn't like to be confined and there is plenty of room for her to stretch and wriggle about.

Ocarro Pushchair Review | The foot-muff

I needed to mention the cold weather foot-muff as it has been well tested with Northern Irish Autumn/Winter winds! I have loved being able to go out on walks and not worry about keeping Elia warm or protected from the cold! The fleece-lined foot-muff is incredibly cosy with extra padding and the quilting finishes it off beautifully.

Overall, the Ocarro is as beautiful as it is practical and we have loved testing it out these past few weeks. This will be a well-loved buggy over the next few years and will be joining us on plenty of adventures!
