The influencers' festive decorations edit for Christmas 2022

The countdown to Christmas is officially on. As we dust off the decks (and stock up on a few more) we’ve spoken to some of our wonderful influencers to find out how they plan to decorate their homes this festive season. And of course, we had to ask: will it be a real or artificial Christmas tree?

Keep reading to discover how they’re making this Christmas that bit more magical…

“It’s been a tradition in our family to go to the local garden centre and choose a decoration each since my brother and I were 3. We’ve now started the tradition with Ella every year and will continue this with Bradley when he’s a bit older next year too. We have a fake tree because they are less messy!” - @project_ivel

“We actually have a tradition when it comes to the order in which we decorate our family Christmas tree. My dad passed away 13 years ago so it’s always his bauble and feather that goes on the tree first” - @_leagordon

“For as long as I can remember we have always had a fake tree. But this year will be extra special as we are going to get a real tree, which we are so excited about. We like to make sure our girls know the real meaning of Christmas which isn’t presents (although they get lots!) it’s about being together. Family time is everything and this year our Christmas will be our best one yet. 🎄” - @winniemaiya

“We love to buy stockings and fill them up with cute little bits that we know each of the kids like. We also add some Christmas pjs too. We all love to get involved with decorating the tree which is always fun. We do prefer an artificial tree as it takes less cleaning when putting up and taking it down!” - @lawrenda_lot

“We always put up our tree at some point in November, so we have longer to enjoy the run up to Christmas. Our girls love helping us decorate it! In terms of family traditions, we also have a Christmas Eve box which includes a new book and a pair of pyjamas. We also make sure to leave out a glass of milk for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph before bed too!” - @sophieellaandme

“Christmas is our favourite time of the year, and this year we have two daughters to celebrate with so it’s going to be magical. Our Christmas tradition is each year we make chunky, gooey, chocolate homemade cookies. We then put on our matching pyjamas and decorate our Christmas tree together before watching a Christmas movie.

“I love looking back on the traditions we had as children… When we were younger our Christmas tradition was going to the cinema on Christmas Eve and then on the way home my siblings and I would look out the window of the car for Father Christmas. In the morning me and my sister would go into my brother’s room and we would open our stocking presents at the end of our beds” - @home.life.with.molly

“We absolutely love Christmas here and celebrate it for as long as we can! We usually put the tree up mid-November - a fake tree because building it adds to the excitement. We have some super special baubles that we add to as the family grows. 2 years ago we had my first son’s name added and this year we will be adding a bauble with baby’s name! My favourite traditions are Christmas Eve boxes (compete with a brand-new set of cosy pyjamas of course), laying out treats for Santa and shaking the bells in the garden. Seeing the magic I once felt spread to my kids is honestly more magical than any present could ever be! - @em.and.jenson
