At Mamas & Papas we’re thrilled to announce we have partnered with micro-donation charity Pennies to offer our customers a chance to give to charity when shopping with us.
Support Tommy’s Research with Every Purchase
Our customers will now be able to top-up on their in-store purchases to support our nominated charity Tommy’s, to fund their work as the UK’s leading pregnancy research charity, stopping the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and making pregnancy and birth safe – for everyone.
Tommy’s works to drive change at every stage of the pregnancy journey, turning research into new tests and treatments, campaigning for changes to maternity care and providing expert information and support for everyone. Our aim is that, together, we can save babies’ lives while providing support where it’s needed most for our community.
Micro-Donations: A Simple Way to Give Back
Claire Rayner, Director of Marketing for Mamas & Papas, says: “We wanted to offer our customers the chance to support Tommy’s and the hugely important work they undertake. We are excited to be working alongside Pennies, who’ve helped us deliver a simple option to ‘micro-donate’ at payment. We know people will enjoy giving back.”
Jo Barclay Bowen, Deputy Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships at Tommy’s, said: “We are delighted to be chosen as the official charity for Mamas and Papas and excited that Pennies will be a key part of that journey. Mamas and Papas’ customers’ donations will help us change and save lives. They will help fund Tommy’s support services and our research into preventing baby loss, turning those findings into treatments that enable more parents to bring home a healthy baby.”
Pennies CEO Alison Hutchinson CBE, added “We are really pleased to welcome Mamas & Papas to the Pennies’ micro-donation family, and know that customers will be generous and appreciate being asked to contribute a few pennies to such a fantastic cause. We look forward to the months and years ahead making great contributions in our communities.”
Together, We Can Make a Difference
Pennies has estimated that micro-donations present an ambitious but achievable opportunity to inject an annual £1 billion into the UK charity sector - if every UK card holder gave just 35p a week.
We’re really excited to be a part of this digital fundraising revolution, and can’t wait to communicate to our teams, colleagues and customers on how well it’s going.
